Moodle is an open-source Learning Management System (LMS) that provides educators with the tools and features to create and manage online courses. It allows educators to organize course materials, create quizzes and assignments, host discussion forums, and track student progress. Moodle is highly flexible and can be customized to meet the specific needs of different institutions and learning environments.
Moodle supports both synchronous and asynchronous learning environments, enabling educators to host live webinars, video conferences, and chat sessions, as well as providing a variety of tools that support self-paced learning, including videos, interactive quizzes, and discussion forums. The platform also integrates with other tools and systems, such as Google Apps and plagiarism detection software, to provide a seamless learning experience.
Moodle is widely used in educational institutions, including universities, K-12 schools, and corporate training programs. It is well-suited to online and blended learning environments and distance education programs. Additionally, Moodle's accessibility features make it a popular choice for learners with disabilities, ensuring that courses are inclusive and accessible to all learners.
The Moodle community is an active group of users, developers, and educators who contribute to the platform's development and improvement. The community provides support, resources, and documentation for users, as well as a forum for sharing ideas and best practices. Moodle releases regular updates and improvements, ensuring that the platform remains up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices.

Time series analysis is a widely used statistical tool for prediction of future based on past observations. It has global implications and applications in different scientific communities and can solve different real-world problems in the field of ecology, environment and natural resource management as well as in tourism and business and hospital management. Similar applications are available through ecological models in terms of population and community analysis. However, till now, this emerging opportunity is somehow not reflected in majority of the academic curricula. In India, only some handpicked autonomous institutes and Universities offer such courses. Keeping this in mind, this initiative has been taken by the Durgapur Government College to enable students use different data analysis tools, program-oriented software and online resources. This course will help the students to think scientifically about the statistical approaches and to implement their knowledge in practical situations. Except for a short module in MSc Conservation Biology, time series and ecological models are not included in the prescribed University Curriculum, and hence the institution aims to provide this course to bridge the curricular gap so that the students can be trained to meet the demand of the modern science-based statistical approaches in India and other South-Asian countries.
Research methodology is the study of how to design, conduct, and report scientific research. It encompasses the philosophy of science, logical reasoning, research methods, and ethics. Such courses are offered by universities for students who have enrolled themselves as research scholars with the aim of pursuing a PhD. This course enables students to develop skills and creative minds for innovative research design and presenting the same on various platforms.
